About Copilot Prompts
Copilot Prompts is an independent resource that helps people get practical, reliable results from Microsoft Copilot. We publish copy-ready prompt templates and plain-English guides for Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Chat and GitHub Copilot.
Why we built this site
AI assistants are only as useful as the instructions you give them. Many people try Copilot once, get a generic answer and give up. Our goal is to close that gap with prompts that are specific, easy to adapt and organized around real work: writing email, analyzing spreadsheets, building decks, running meetings and writing code.
What you will find here
- Prompts by app: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and GitHub Copilot.
- Prompts by role: HR, sales, teachers, marketing, project managers and more.
- Prompting guides: how to structure prompts, add context and refine answers.
How we write our prompts
Every prompt follows a simple structure: a clear goal, useful context, the source material Copilot should use, and the format you expect back. Placeholders in [square brackets] show you exactly what to replace. We update articles as Copilot features change.
